Ernabella Arts is Australia’s oldest, continuously running art centre. Our artists have many years of experience leading and communication their desires. Travelling to a remote community takes time and effort. Adriano Pupilli Architects understood the essential need to come to Ernabella to carry out a collaborative design workshop with artists and art centre staff.
The team listened and were receptive to the art centres ideas for our space, future growth and aspirations. The end result yielded a design that responded to Ernabella Arts requirements as well as integrating clever and thoughtful design considerations previously not envisaged. Now these designs have been realised. Our spaces are bursting with light, functionality and beauty. Upon entering our art centre, all levels of community including our artists, staff and visitors to the centre are met with feelings of creativity and vibrancy..

Adriano and the team at APA were incredible to deal with. From their initial design concept right through to the finished product. We were blown away by Adriano's vision, we had no idea what could become of our awkwardly built house. Adriano and Matt turned what was a rabbit warren, with many corridors and doors that lead to absolutely nowhere, into a light filled oasis with loads of space for our family to enjoy. What they achieved, working within a strict budget and within the existing shell of our house was very impressive. Challenges were faced head on and overcome with creative solutions. They answered every question, and there were many, and guided us through with ease. It was an absolute pleasure working with them and we felt safe and supported through the entire process.Could not recommend the team at APA more, nor give them higher praise. Adriano arrived at my home on a motorbike, sans notebook or attitude. He took in the (tiny, read: challenging) space and listened carefully to my ambitions for a renovation. In no time at all he'd come back to me with an extensive reverse brief for the design, to which I made only one minuscule amendment. Not only was he thorough in his approach, but stunning in his vision. He was able to come up with an idea that maximised my tiny terrace, respected the heritage while also developing a really seamless design.
Adriano and Matt were also able to guide me through the DA process with Woollahra council, helping to organise the team of specialists, including introducing me to a heritage consultant. They were able to get the project approved, thanks no doubt to their easy-going attitudes and respect for the process.
I was so impressed by Adriano's keen eye for design and his fuss-free approach to what can be an incredibly stressful situation. He and Matt are the guys you want on your team.MATILDA, CLIENT, SPLIT LEVEL HOUSE PADDINGTON
I have known Adriano Pupilli since he first submitted a concept design for the activation of Charter Hall’s No. 1 Martin Place Mezzanine and Ground Floor in late 2015. From the first time he presented to our business, Adriano gave us confidence that he understood the client challenge and developed a return brief that set the tone for a vision that was realised in August 2018.
The No.1 Martin Place vision incorporated a space with its own sense of identity that blends into the heritage of the Martin Place GPO. Most importantly, since the first morning the space opened, it has been constantly busy, buzzing and generating positive feedback from building tenants and the public.
Importantly for a project manager, APA struck what to me was the right balance between staying firm on an architectural vision while acknowledging client and builder feedback on operational and construction issues.
I confidently recommend APA for any projects needing a big architectural outcome from a small and focussed team.

[/slide]Our renovation experience was an immensely enjoyable one working with APA. Their creativity and vision opened up a world of possibilities we hadn't imagined. This was then executed with a high degree of professionalism and experience. The comfort and pleasure we take in our new apartment is almost entirely attributable to APA - thank you!

From the beginning I was impressed with his vision and creativity as well as being very approachable and easy to work with.
The solutions he came up with – a new internal courtyard and a spectacular roofline letting in the northern light – were quite visionary.Pat, client, courtyard house petersham
Adriano and his team worked with us to create our home and make use of the limited space and restrictions that come with renovating a house in a heritage area. We felt our ideas and requests were noted and included in the planning process and we felt consulted with and involved throughout the project.
Adriano worked with us moving our initial ideas into concept, approval and reality and negotiated the difficult process of approval with Canada Bay Council. We now have a functional family home that feels so much bigger than it is, is full of light and elements of style that go beyond our initial ideas and requests. There is a great balance and connection between the old and new in our renovated space.
Adriano and his team were great at communicating with us and keeping us in the loop with regular project meetings and were the key link between us as clients, and our builder.
We confidently recommend Adriano Pupilli Architects for their professionalism, design skill and overall outcome of our project.

Adriano is great at managing complex projects with a number of different stakeholders. He actively listens and responds promptly in a professional way. He has a fine eye for good design and concerns himself with sustainable low cost sensible architecture. I recommend his work highly.

Adriano did a great job for us in redesigning our dilapidated garage into badly needed office space for our homeless youth service in Bondi Junction. Utilitising natural light, he's a designed a functional but appealing space for us at a very affordable price, always a big concern in Community Services. We can't wait to get to work in our new office!

Adriano was very patient and accommodating while he took us through the design process which we could visualise not only with traditional plans, but with 3D walk through and sketches as well. Despite our difficult design issues and our uncertainty of what we wanted, he guided us through various options and worked with us to finish with an attractive workable house. We highly recommend him!
