Calm ambience by the harbour

A re-thinking of a 1960's top floor apartment with sweeping views over Manly Cove and out towards North and South Heads. The design moderates the elements of an exposed site, creating a calm ambience and enhancing appreciation of the views.

The interiors feature dark stained timber, natural timber and brass accents to create a richness of material texture and depth, helping to soften the harsh light and create a restorative calm. A joinery wall located in the open plan kitchen, living and dining area houses the fridge, pantry and storage discretely and efficiently, maximising space for living.

A reconfigured laundry and main bathroom breathes new life into the aging apartment, and a fixed glass window between the ensuite master bedroom provides a sense of increased space. Clever storage joinery is strategically sculpted to fit available space, maximising functionality and amenity of the home while contributing to the overall ambience of easy coastal living. Porcelain benchtops are cantilevered to provide a sense of lightness, they also provide generous and robust working surfaces in the kitchen and bathrooms. New Blackbutt floors flow through the newly refurbished apartment, adding further textural richness to daily life.
